Winnie & Walter – Welcome to the Family

Hello Again!

I had the pleasure of meeting Shay from Winnie & Walter this past weekend at the Stamping Away retreat.  She is an amazing person!  So generous, lively, and so so so funny!  She asked any one of us who were interested to make a card using an older set for her RERUN series and gifted us all with her Welcome to the Family stamp set.  If you missed my previous post where I made a quick video recap of the retreat, go and check it out!  I promise you won’t be sorry.  Let’s just say I put out a FIRE!

I am happy to share the card I made using this adorable stamp set with you today!  It’s a baby card – so I decided I wanted to make it fun with a shaker element.  I initially had started with a one layer card but changed my mind because I needed it to have more interest.

I masked and stamped the cubes and giraffes, then fussy cut the pieces to adhere to the card panel.  I die cut the circle using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles and filled the opening with the SSS Pineapple sequins – I thought these colors were perfect for this card.

Copic colors used:  Y00, Y04, Y11, YR15, B000, B0000, YG11, YG06, YR30.

I embossed the sentiment on the acetate.  The background is a simple Distress Ink wash using Festive Berries.

I had forgotten about this fun rerun series until Shay reminded me just the day before so I’m glad I was able to make something quick to participate.  Thanks for the opportunity to play with this darling set, Shay!
